Pancakes for Breakfast
It was 8 o'clock in the morning on Saturday, and I was like a bear coming out of hibernation. My eyes were heavy and I just wanted to go back to sleep, but I knew I had to get up because I know mom wouldn't let me stay in bed. I went to the washroom and brushed my teeth, performed my morning routines like a plane on auto-pilot. When I was done, I ran to the kitchen, and breakfast smelled amazing. My brother was making pancakes as efficiently as a robot, and making the moves like one too. Weirdo. He placed 3 pancakes on a plate at the table and called me over like a stray lamb. I sat at the table and poured the syrup on the pancakes like a waterfall. When I began to cut into the pancakes, I realized the top pancake was as stiff as a block of wood. Then the second one. Then the third! I looked at my brother as a sad dog looks at their owner. I had been pranked! He laughed like a hyena. Then gave me 3 more pancakes, this time real ones. I could tell because they smelled like sugary sweetness.
